It’s a poor but healthy and quality cuisine, which uses the products offered by the land, respecting its biodiversity and seasonality. Get ready to know the culinary secrets of the Grannies of the town!
What will you do
You will be the protagonist in the kitchen, observing, cooking and then tasting, a true food experience.
You will discover the provenance and quality of Cilento land and traditional products directly from the farms.
Together with the local grannies, you will prepare typical local pasta dishes based strictly on the Mediterranean Diet, transmitting the same love and passion as the cuisine of yesteryear.
In the beautiful kitchen of the Pollica castle, you will learn a typical seasonal dish of Cilento cuisine: Cavatelli.
This kind of pasta is pulled strictly by hand and is the most widely consumed homemade pasta throughout the Campania region. It is the first pasta that grandmothers teach their grandchildren to make, when for fun they begin to become familiar with flour.
‘Cavatelli Cilentani’ are then dressed with a Cilento ragout or with a Mediterranean-style sauce with seasonal vegetables or tomato and basil.
After the preparation, comes the tasty part: the eating one! All together, you and the grannies, you will lunch or dine in the atmospheric rooms of the castle with the dishes you have previously prepared!
