Gradara is a village with an important history and a wonderful position between Marche and Romagna. The village lies on the hill, with the sea on the horizon and the castle dominating the view. The village is a place rich in history and legends, a characteristic place where everyone can breathe the tradition of the region in small shops and historic taverns.

The historic center is enclosed by a wall about 700 meters long. The beautiful Castle of Gradara is a prominent feature of the village and is crossed by the streets that were the setting for the love story of Paolo and Francesca.

Gradara resides in the immediate hinterland and overlooks the beautiful Marche-Romagna Riviera. A land rich in flavors, traditions and surprises!

The castle of Gradara is on the top of the village: it was the place where the unfortunate love of Paolo and Francesca was consumed, as recounted by Dante Alighieri in the Divine Comedy!
