Mountain huts, breath-taking peaks and landscapes: enchanting locations to be discovered on foot, in slow mode, listening to the silence of nature while admiring the splendid winter panoramas of Apennine Mountain!

What will you do

After reaching the starting point of the excursion, The local guides will explain how to wear snowshoes and the use of poles. If you have never tried it, don’t worry, they will clarify all your doubts, the experience can be done by anyone!

You will set off on your hike through unspoilt nature, crossing the Asinara Mountain until you reach the Passo della Comunella.

 During the snowshoe hike, it will be easier to observe the tracks and footprints left by the local fauna, and some curiosities will also be revealed! 

Once you reach the top, you will be overwhelmed by the magnificent view of the Apuan Alps stretching out around you! A magnificent ridge, white with snow on which you will stop to sip a cup of hot tea while waiting to admire the sunset. 

the way back will be after sunset, , but you will have torches in your head to help you on the descent!

PLEASE NOTE: Remember to wear suitable winter clothing: windbreaker, snow trousers, gloves, hat or headband, scarf or neck warmer and hiking shoes. 

A head torch is required for the return trip. 

Meeting point

The meeting point is Rifugio dell’Aquila, but to reach the starting point of the hike (Passo Pradena) you need a car.
