Sardinian Wool & Dye workshop Core, Experiences Workshop €25 - €25

Natural dyeing is an ancient tradition, handed down from generation to generation over the centuries, which is based on the wild herbs of this land and its culture: Gallura in fact is rich in different species of dyeing plants, while the wool of Sardinia is particularly suitable to be dyed because, thanks to the traditional spinning techniques, it better reflects the color.

What will you do

In the heart of Aggius, inside the Meoc Museum, together with an expert lady of the village, you will discover and learn the secrets of natural dyeing of wool.

During the workshop you will see a demonstration of wool carding, spinning with the spool and the spindle. You will also have the opportunity to use the ancient tools used to work the wool of the sheep.

Then you will move on to the natural coloring of the yarns with herbs collected in Sardinia. Finally, you will attend the demonstration of weaving on manual wooden looms to obtain the finished product.
