Description

A local cooperative “Women in the mountains”, made up of women of all ages and a common goal: to repopulate their village which was becoming uninhabited. So these where they started their project and they will be happy to accompany you during your workation to discover their tradition, the ancient crafts, making you feel part of the community.

The accommodations of the Scattered Borgo are located in the ancient village of Ornica, a century-old village consisting of apartments of various capacities that can accommodate from 2 to 12 beds organized through a single reception and common spaces. Spending your workation here will be like taking a dip in the past with walks along the ancient border roads that have marked the history of the country.

Accommodation

You will immediately feel part of the community by staying in one of the traditional houses. The charm of Ornica lies precisely in having transformed the entire village into a scattered Borgo, you will be hosted in the ancient stone houses that characterize the place, trying to live like a true Ornichese.

The Scattered Borgo counts 7 apartments divided in 3 big houses and it can host up to 26 people. All the apartments are furnished with the classic mountain style: wooden furniture and stone walls are the main elements.

Following the description of the apartments:

CALVI HOUSE:

• loft with double bed and bathroom
• apartment with a double bedroom and a sofa bed in the living room
• apartment with a quadruple bedroom (1 double bed + 2 bunk beds) and a double sofa bed in the living room

GUSTI HOUSE:

• apartment with a double bedroom and a sofa bed in the living room
• apartment with a double bedroom and 2 twin bedrooms

SOTA HOUSE:

• apartment with a double bedroom
• apartment with two double bedrooms

Internet and Working spaces

Internet is not provided in the apartments, but only in the restaurant of the Borgo

You can take advantage of the Restaurant spaces to arrange your meeting or work day-by-day

Location

Ornica is a small village in Val Brembana 50 kilometers from Bergamo that was in danger of extinction considering that 160 inhabitants remained. Until in 2009 a local cooperative made up of women only decided to give life to this project, a development of the circular economy. It was the first widespread hotel to be born in Lombardia.
Depending on the number of guests arriving in Ornica, women are mobilized to organize the stay and make the worker a temporary resident, who has the opportunity to discover what life is like in Val Brembana. Ornica is located at an altitude of 1000 meters and it has maintained a lifestyle on a human scale, with the slow rhythms of nature, made up of simple and genuine things.
