In Civita, everything – houses, traditions, language – tells a story of centuries ago, when an entire Albanian population took refuge in southern Italy, giving rise to the largest Albanian community in Italy, the Arbëreshe community. Let’s know more about it with this fun class experience!
What will you do
This fun and unconventional experience will take place inside the Arberesh museum in the historic center. You will have the unique opportunity to learn the language and culture of this ethical minority of Civita through games specially created by a local histrion.
Pietro, local philologist and cantor will take you into the sounds of one of the oldest languages in the world, still spoken in the Arbëreshë countries (of Albanian origin), the ancient language of Illyrian origin.
