Location

The Scattered B&B was born in 1998 as pure innovation in a homegrown land, where it was unthinkable to welcome “strangers” into the house. Where people built walls, a mother opened doors and today, two brothers, Arianna and Mattia, proudly carry on the work started years ago with the same passion and the same mentality: knowing, exploring through the eyes of others and welcoming people from all over the world.
The central block of the B&B is more than 200 years old, it was the home of their ancestors: every wall, every beam, every brick is steeped in the history of this family. The village was born together with the scattered house and over time other houses have been built around it to create a harmonious circle in the center of which stands a splendid stone fountain with spring water.

The little town once also had a bread oven and a small press, now ruins but still present to remind people of the past life.
We want the temporary citizens and workers to live a magical experience, suspended in time, far from chaos but at the same time with that familiarity that will make you feel at home.

Getting around the area

Ossola is a very particular corner of Piedmont, in many ways anomalous. Locals speak a Lombard dialect even if they are Piedmontese and they live in a strip of land close to the Swiss Alps, with which they divide peaks and pastures. Each valley is a small world, often with very different histories and origins.

For historical reasons, the Ossola valleys have remained untouched by mass tourism and it is still possible to visit mountain pastures and parks with a unique charm.

By car or train, reaching the B&B is very simple. The closest train station is Domodossola (5 km far), for those arriving by train it’ is possible to request the shuttle service that connects the B&B with the Domodosola international station, or, with the Vigezzina railway. Milano is about 2 hours driving (130 km).
