Let’s discover the art of coral and visit a jewellers’ workshop! In this experience you will have the chance to know all the secrets of The Gold of Sciacca and to learn how to make stunning coral jewellery.

What will you do

The Gold of Sciacca is perhaps the most mysterious coral that exists in nature and has unique origins and features of the world. Ferdinandea is a submerged island that appears and disappears right in front of Sciacca in the Strait of Sicily. With the Coral Experience you will enter our artisan workshops where you will discover the ancient processing techniques of coral masters who cut, bevel and work, one by one, the tiny coral branches. Then they will pass them into your hands and allow you to create your personal precious jewel with a total eco-sustainable fossil coral.

What is included

• Visit to the workshop and explanation of the coral, where it comes from, its nature and eco-sustainability
• Explanation of the process: history, secrets and techniques;
• Demonstrations of the jewellery making and jewels already created;
• Under the guidance of the craftsman, the guest tests a phase of coral processing.
• Tools for working coral are included in the price.
